However, when I go into the Network view, either pcmanfm hangs entirely until it reaches its timeout, or I get the "Windows Network" subentry, clicking on which simply yields nothing (though does not "hang" the application).Not sure about this, but I think only applications that use kio-slaves will be able to access those files through dolphin. Try another type of file, for example, a pdf, open it with okular to check if it works, and then try opening the same url with any other non-qt/kde based viewer, if it fails, my point stands.Hello, I got exactly the same issue than you after upgrading samba-and smbclient from 3.4.5-1.1 to 3.4.6-1: symlinks in a share don't work anymore.
