All the advice I see is Elite void with a dragon crossbow (I can't afford a better crossbow) but, when I run it all through a dps calculator, they say that using Karil's with a blowpipe and adamant darts is better dps than Elite Void with a dragon crossbow and ruby bolts (e). The main use for Karils is Magic Defence and I believe it is the strongest Magic Defence armor without a Melee Attack negative, which is why you might see it used more for Melee than for Ranged..
